10/07: Thunder and Rain

I have been absent for a while, primarily due to the lack of a camera - the one I have been using started a slow decline in Italy (Florence to be exact) and for weeks now I have been camera-less. But I am now using a substitute, and can take photographs of my (ho hum) distinctly non-Italian life. So it is perhaps appropriate that my first entry is that of a clothes-line.

The weather is warm and heavy, over the last days the heat builds up with the humidity, and dark clouds loom and flashes and thunder fill the sky. Our dryer has given in to it's age, and is refusing to dry the clothes - so we are reminded of Italy, as we heft our clothes outside to the line, only to run out hours later to quickly pluck them off again as the sky begins to spit down on us. All around us the world is wet, and green is slowly creeping up the lower bricks of the house.

Zoe runs from swimming lessons, to piano lessons to zipping by the window on her bike, with Lizzie in fast pursuit. It is summer.
